Life Sucks Sometimes

Life stressors, mental health issues, anxiety, relationships, grief, and even our careers can throw our emotions and life out of balance. Daily issues can become overwhelming, tiresome, or dull. You may feel like you have lost your direction, or have things to deal with and heal from, or simply, just want more from your life. You want to feel, cope, relate, and get better. I get it. These are signs that you could use some help, someone to process with, a sounding board, support, action steps and skills.

You Don't Have to do it Alone

My job is to be your guide, teacher, sounding board, and support; To help you adapt, heal and grow, into your best life. In doing so, you are not alone. You have a place here. A place to be supported, to be heard and express yourself, learn about (and work through) your issues, develop new skills, and create healthier habits in order to achieve better life balance and wellness.

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”

- Shannon L. Alder -

Therapy Style

With a primary focus on safety, mutual trust, teamwork and connection and always holistic, affirming, and integrative care, I use a laid back, warm, thoughtful, and relatable style that results in individualized approaches and engaging sessions. Ultimately it is about finding the right fit to help you heal and grow in a way that makes sense, and works, for you.

It's about Wellness

Therapy isn't just about illness, disorders, and poor coping. It is also about creating and maintaining good health, life balance, and wellness. My belief is that everyone deserves to create the best life they can and sometimes a little assistance is all that is needed, because even the healthiest and highest functioning of us run across difficult paths every now and then, need preventative maintenance care. or just want to grow.

The Way it Works

All clients must complete an initial (intake) session that consists of the basics: reviewing and signing policies, consents and release forms and completing a full life evaluation interview. During this time we will have a chance to get to know each other, ask questions, and make sure that we are a good fit.

We will then create an individual plan,  a guide to get you to where you want to be, prioritizing issues and figuring out our approaches.

After that, sessions are all yours to utilize as you see fit. Individual sessions are typically an hour in length. Longer sessions may be booked. There may be additional fees for longer sessions.

What Sessions are Like

Sessions can look however you want them to. I can lead the session, or you can come in with something specific to discuss or work on for the day.

We may talk or we may do therapeutic activities or even meditation. Sometimes, clients choose to sit in silence. It's all about what YOU need and want.

In doing the work, some sessions are more difficult than others. Some sessions are fun and enjoyable and we laugh a lot, and yet, other sessions may be tearful or I may challenge you to dig deep. These are all normal as we work through the issues that have been holding you back.
