Individual Therapy

Life Sucks Sometimes

I know that you are here because life is hard right now and you’re not coping very well. I get it. Maybe you feel anxious or on edge, your relationships are a struggle, maybe there’s been abuse or a traumatic incident, maybe a loss of some sort, or you are just feeling stuck, uninspired or alone. Maybe you never knew who you were, or you lost yourself more recently.

You Don't Have to do it Alone

I will be your partner and we will wade through it all together. I will help you adapt, heal, and grow into your best life. To do this, I focus on a therapeutic foundation of safety, mutual trust, teamwork and connection. I then tailor the techniques and approaches to fit your unique personality and situation. So, no matter where you are in life, or what your journey; I am here to empower and guide you along the way,

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”

- Shannon L. Alder -

My Job

In providing holistic and integrative therapy for clients ages 15 and older, my job is to give you a place to be heard and express yourself, learn about (and work through) your issues, develop new skills, and create healthier habits in order to achieve better life balance and wellness.

Diagnosis Doesn't Matter

It doesn't matter if you have a mental health diagnosis or not. My belief is that everyone deserves to create the best life they can and sometimes a little assistance is all that is needed, because even the healthiest and highest functioning of us run across difficult paths every now and then. There is no reason to create a potentially stigmatizing and lasting label for minor  and normal life bumps. At the same time, if you have a diagnosis, that works to, and if you are on medications, I will work with your prescriber to provide wrap-around care.

The Way it Works

All clients must complete a 1 1/2-2 hour - initial (intake) session that consists of the basics: reviewing and signing policies, consents and release forms and completing a full life evaluation interview. During this time we will have a chance to get to know each other, ask questions, and make sure that we are a good fit.

We will then create an individual plan,  a guide to get you to where you want to be, prioritizing issues and figuring out our approaches.

After that, sessions are all yours to utilize as you see fit. Individual sessions are typically an hour in length. Longer sessions may be booked, at up to 3 hours per day at the hourly rate.

What Sessions are Like

Sessions can look however you want them to. I can lead the session, or you can come in with something specific to discuss or work on for the day.

We may talk or we may do therapeutic activities or even meditation. Sometimes, clients choose to sit in silence. It's all about what YOU need and want.

In doing the work, some sessions are more difficult than others. Some sessions are fun and enjoyable and we laugh a lot, and yet, other sessions may be tearful or I may challenge you to dig deep. These are all normal as we work through the issues that have been holding you back.
