Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is an opportunity to work on you. Whether you feel lost, have things to deal with, heal from, or simply want personal growth and more from life, it is just as much about creating and maintaining good health, life balance and wellness, as it is ridding yourself of distress, poor coping, and managing disorders.  Even the healthiest and highest functioning of us can use someone to talk with and their own, personal support, and guidance. This is your space to address your emotions, heal old wounds, and grow into the life that you are satisfied with and feel good about.

The Approach

My job is to be a guide, teacher, sounding board, and support in order to help you adapt, heal, and grow through the journey of reclaiming your life. This means, it’s about finding the right fit that makes sense, and works for you, both in the therapist and type of therapies provided. Since I firmly believe you and your situations are unique, my approach is personalized, flexible, and integrates all aspects of your life in a collaborative, strength-based, affirming, and holistic way.

I also get rid of overly formal, cold professionalism, and instead use an easy-going, dynamic, and relatable style that focuses on building a strong, safe, and trusting connection with thought-provoking and engaging sessions that ease the burden of the difficult work and makes therapy more accessible and approachable as we lean in together to reclaim your life.

Sessions

Sessions can look however you want them to. I can lead the session, or you can come in with something specific to discuss or work on for the day.

 

We may talk or we may do therapeutic activities or even meditation. Sometimes, clients choose to sit in silence. It's all about what YOU need and want.

 

In doing the work, some sessions are more difficult than others. Some sessions are fun and enjoyable and we laugh a lot, and yet, other sessions may be tearful or I may challenge you to dig deep. These are all normal as we work through the issues that have been holding you back.

The Way It Works

All clients must complete an initial (intake) session that consists of the basics: reviewing and signing policies, consents and release forms and completing a full life evaluation interview. During this time we will have a chance to get to know each other, ask questions, and make sure that we are a good fit.

 

We will then create an individual plan,  a guide to get you to where you want to be, prioritizing issues and figuring out our approaches.

 

After that, sessions are all yours to utilize as you see fit. Individual sessions are typically an hour in length. Longer sessions may be booked. There may be additional fees for longer sessions.
